May-June '19: Waiting and Waiting on the Lord

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31) This time in our ministry has been one of waiting on the Lord. We were supposed to be out of our current building back in January. The building was officially sold in May, and we have not paid rent in two months. The reason is because there has been no one to pay rent to. As I write this letter, we are currently in the middle of special summer meetings, a Christian History Conference, and Summer Bible Camp. Once these meetings are finished in mid-August, Kelly and Keith II will be travelling to the U.S. to help Kelly’s mom while I stay in Ireland with the two younger boys. I will look more diligently for a new meeting place. While we wait patiently on the Lord concerning direction with our building, we continue to serve and wait on the Lord through our ministries.

May—This was a busy month, starting with the Great Limerick Run or, for the kids, the Limerick Run for Fun. They always enjoy being a part of this event every year. A couple days later, we had a church hike in a beautiful area called Clare Glens, where there is a river with many small waterfalls. Then on May 12, we had our Church Anniversary BBQ and had many people stay after. We even had a Brazilian lady named Ana, who occasionally attends, come to the BBQ. She brought her Irish husband Brendan, who is an unsaved atheist. He heard the Gospel but was very defensive; please pray that he turns to Christ. Our church building was finally sold, and our old landlord had me sign a contract that states that as soon as we are given notice, we will be out of the building within 30 days. The next week, I had a wonderful Skype meeting with a church in Alaska, and the month ended with taking Bible classes in Dublin. We had 6 visitors during the month of May.

June—Beginning with Kelly’s birthday on the 5th, we surprised her by taking her to brunch. The next week, we met several other missionary families at the Dublin Zoo. After the zoo, we went to a family’s home to collect a new kitten to eventually help fight the rodents on our country property. We then honoured the dads in our Father’s Day meeting, and I preached on how to honour your father. These last two months, we worked to talk to people and get the Gospel into over 2,000 homes. Ger has continued to faithfully meet for discipleship, and Ronan has been off and on, missing weeks at a time and then suddenly showing up at church and apologising. I just continue to go back to his need for salvation. Please pray that the Lord would bring fruit for all of our labors.

Soul Winning—A visiting evangelist, Bob Jones, was recently here for a meeting. He was getting his hair cut, and the lady who cut his hair was from Eastern Europe. He invited her to the meetings, but she didn’t come. Finally, the last night he was with us, he stopped by, gave her a tract, and told her he wanted to tell her how to get to Heaven. She told him he could tell her then, so he presented the Gospel to her. She wanted to think about it but also said that she would want me to come by and talk to her more about it. I will be going there soon to follow up on this contact, so please pray that she will continue to be open to the Gospel.

Please pray for these needs:
1. The church to grow together
2. New building
3. Co-laborers in Limerick
4. Protection over the ministry

I thank all of you for your continued prayers and faithful support. We can see the Lord’s hand working in our lives in many different ways because of your faithfulness.

In the campaign for Irish souls,
Keith Hamilton
