March-April '18: Changing of Seasons

The prayer letters I send are a reflection of the two months that have past. These last two months have been spent getting readjusted to Ireland and getting settled into our home. We have begun cutting down trees and clearing out overgrown blackberry bushes. This is the time of year when the weather makes drastic changes from cold and wet to warm and wet. The sun also comes out 20 minutes longer every week, and you can feel the brighter days significantly. By mid-April, the flowers around our home and across the countryside are nearly in full bloom. This is the time of year everyone looks forward to. In our last letter, I mentioned the need for another vehicle, and the Lord provided the money we needed to purchase a used Skoda Yeti. I want to thank all the churches that gave a little extra during this time. It was a great blessing and helped us to be able to purchase a used, low-mileage 2011 Skoda Yeti. It will be a reliable vehicle, since our other car is having transmission issues.

March—This month began with unexpected cold weather, and we ended up having the pipes freeze in our house; but the cold and snow only lasted three to four days. During this time, the children had a wonderful time playing in the snow. March is also the month for the Irish Mother’s Day. We had a special mother- honouring celebration, put out hundreds of advertisements, and had one visitor who came. That next Wednesday we had two unexpected visitors. One was a man from Waterford (which is three hours away) who works in Limerick, and the other was a lady from India. They both left with a copy of the book, Done.

April—We started this month with an Easter service. I put out a Facebook advert, and we had five new visitors: three from Brazil and two from Ireland. One of the Brazilians came back a couple of weeks later, and I was able to give her a Portuguese Bible.

Another highlight of the month was the annual Men’s Camp that is held in Waterford. I got to take pictures for the meeting, and there were around 80 men who attended. In addition to my three boys, I was able to bring two men with me, and the three days were a tremendous blessing to all of them.
The man I have been discipling, Graham, has been faithful and consistent to our Thursday meetings, but he still needs to be baptised and to join the church. Richard paid us an unexpected visit after being away for two months. He was under conviction and said he wanted to pray and get saved, but after a few questions, it was clear he would just be praying and that he really had no conviction of sin or belief in the Resurrection. The last week we saw him, it finally occurred to him what the Bible said. He said, “So all of you believe that 98% of the people in Limerick are going to Hell?” I simply opened my Bible and quoted him verses from Romans 3 that we had gone over in the Bible study, including Romans 3:19, “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.” Please pray that he does not continue to reject the Gospel.

Soul Winning—We have had several new people coming out soul winning with us on Saturdays: two Irish ladies and two men, David and Raiss. I recently went out with Raiss for the first time, and we used my Religion Survey. In this particular neighbourhood, it was not as effective as far as salvations, but we were able to get the Gospel to three and lead them through the Ten Commandments, quoting James 2:10, “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” They all responded in shock, saying, “I don’t believe that.” I said, “Well, it is what the Bible says. Do you not believe God’s Word?” They would not answer, but please pray that the Lord would use those encounters to show them their need for a Saviour.

Please pray for these needs:
1. Father’s Day meeting
2. Victory Youth Camp
3. Co-laborers in Limerick
4. Protection over the ministry

Last, I would like to thank all of you for your continued prayers, faithful support, and all the churches and individuals who sent gifts to help with our vehicle.

In the campaign for Irish souls,
Keith Hamilton
